Author of the popular oral history of Santa Fe, “Turn Left at the Sleeping Dog“, historian John Pen La Farge will take you through his historic neighborhood,  highlighting its colorful residents, history, and architecture.

Pen is exceptionally qualified to show you Santa Fe as it once was: less gentrified and a haven for important artists and authors. Pen is the son of Oliver La Farge, famed anthropologist and American Indian rights advocate and winner of the 1929 Pulitzer Prize for his novel, “Laughing Boy”. Pen’s mother’s family, the Bacas, have lived in New Mexico for over 400 years.
